About

Small studio. Serious about the work.

We help businesses get found by the people already looking for them. We’d rather be genuinely good for a handful of clients than adequate for a hundred.

Myrtle Street Media is a marketing studio based in the heart of Boston.

We work with businesses across New England. Some we’ve met in person. Plenty we’ve only ever spoken to by phone. Both work fine.

Being nearby helps when it helps. If a client says their customers come from one neighboring town but not the next one over, we usually know why. That sort of thing does not show up in a keyword tool.

Capability

What we actually know how to do

Five things, in the words a client would actually use.

01

We build sites two ways, and we will tell you which you need

Most jobs are best on WordPress: you can edit it, and it does not lock you to us. When speed will win the market, we build from scratch instead. We will say which yours needs, including when the cheaper answer is right.

02

Our team has worked inside trade businesses

Not marketed to them from a distance. We know what a busy season does to a schedule, and which inquiries are worth having.

03

The people building your site also build software

So we fix things most agencies hand to a developer and wait on, and we can tell you what is genuinely hard versus just described that way.

04

We measure our work, and our competitors' work

What your competitors rank for, and what changed when they moved. Public data most agencies never look at, and the fastest way to find a gap.

05

We come from a lot of different places

Several countries, several first careers. A team that all took the same route understands one kind of customer. Ours are not one kind.

Boutique builds

Sometimes the platform is what’s holding a business back. A booking system nobody sells off the shelf. A catalog that won’t fit a template. A page that has to load instantly, because people are looking at it standing in a parking lot.

When that happens, we build it from scratch instead of bending something that was never meant to do the job. It takes longer, and most businesses don’t need it. When you do, nothing off the shelf comes close.

Process

How we work.

No two look the same, because no two businesses want the same work. What does not change is the order: understand, research, plan.

  1. 01We learn the businessBefore anything is written or built, we want to know what work you actually want more of, what you turn down, what a good customer looks like, and what you have already tried. Most of this comes out of one conversation.
  2. 02We research the marketWe look at who is currently winning the searches you want, what they are doing to hold that position, and where the gaps are. This is the part that decides everything after it, and it is the part most agencies skip.
  3. 03We build the plan around youA roofer in a storm season and a dentist filling a schedule need different things. You get a ranked list of what to do first, what it should achieve, and what we would leave until later.
  4. 04We do the work and show itOne report a month, written in plain English, covering what we did, what changed, and what is next. If something is not working we say so before you have to ask.
Tooling

What we work in

The same tools the large agencies use. Your account is not being run on guesswork, and the monthly report is built from what these produce.

What you can hold us to

The honest version. We’re not available at every hour, and if you need a team of twenty, we’re the wrong firm.

You own everything

Site, domain, accounts, content. If you leave, we help you move.

We say no

If your site is fine, we say so rather than sell you a rebuild.

Plain reporting

One page a month. What we did, what changed, what is next.

You talk to the person doing the work

No account manager relaying messages. Same person throughout.

Talk to the person who would do the work

Twenty minutes, no slides. We ask about the business and tell you what we would do.

What we will ask

  • 01What kind of work do you want more of?
  • 02Where do your customers come from now?
  • 03What have you tried, and what happened?
  • 04How many jobs a month could you take on?
